St. Lucia is a wonderful and oft overlooked Caribbean island.
St. Lucia is a wonderful and oft overlooked Caribbean island. Perhaps that is a large part of its charm. It reminds us of what Jamaica was before popular tourist traps became the norm.
There is an authenticity to St. Lucia lacking in some of the more popular destinations such as St. Barth’s or Turks and Caicos. The island is certainly raw; it lacks some of the public improvements that other, more popular islands have. But the resulting upside is better prices and value.
Below are several villas for purchase available through our friends at Sotheby’s International Realty.
This beautiful estate in Soufriere Bay sports 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths, 4,500 sq. ft. and 1.85 acres. Parts of the home do need updating, such as the kitchen, but the views of from Lookout Point, where the property is located, more than make up for an deficiencies in décor or structure. All double bedroom suites face the Pitons with their own balconies. Truly this property was built to take advantage of St. Lucia’s natural beauty.
Val des Pitons is located at the Residences at Sugar Beach, a Viceroy resort. While this will occasionally mean you must interface with tourists, the upside is that you can take advantage of all of the services and amenities that the resort has to offer. Sugar Beach is a world-class resort with a fantastic beach, water sports and a wonderful wine list.
Architecturally, Xanadu is a very different beast than the other options. Its design “…was inspired by the famous domed city of pleasure called Xanadu created by the Mongol ruler Kubla Khan in China in the 12th century.” The home has 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, 2,400 sq. ft., and a little over 1 acre. Its views aren’t quite as divine as La Gallerie
Les Chauderies is rustic but updated and is quite different from many of the other villas available in St. Lucia. It is open and casual and you and your family will be able to relax and enjoy St. Lucia as nature meets architecture.
