Perignon's Exclusive, Not Yet Released to the Public Champagne, P2
Perignon is about to become even more exclusive with their newest, soon to be
released champagne, Dom Perignon Second Plentitude 1998. The Second Plentitude
Series, also easily referred to as P2, is an ultra-premium champagne by Dom
Perignon, probably the most well known champagne label in the world.
P2 champagne comes as such a surprise because Dom Perignon has stayed very much
the same for the last 100 years. This series is so special because the
champagne is such that was already vintage in 1998 yet it is only being
disgorged now and bottled meaning it has been able to reach at least a second
plateau of improvement on the lees.
bottle will retail at about double the price of currently released Dom Perignon
vintage champagnes and they will be sold in impressive brushed aluminum boxes.
Perignon is the prestige brand of Moet Chandon and it is part of the storied
LVMH company, Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton. The company credits its beginnings
to a 17th century monk, Dom Pierre Perignon, and they are best known
for their exceptional offerings featuring the highest levels of quality.
Perignon champagne is only made with the chardonnay and pinot noir grapes – a
noticeable difference as they never use pinot meunier. Each bottle of Dom
Perignon is vintage. They are typically released into the market with at least
7 years or more of aging making them at least double the minimum vintage time
